Wake Up seems to come earlier each morning as the staff does their job well to wear us out!
We were able to enjoy our Quiet Time outdoors this morning. The ampitheatre outside of Pawling is the perfect place to read His Word and prepare for the day! It's also what gave us the word of the day - squirrel.
ICW - Tam Bourine & Tim Ber got the morning started for us with CK News Live. The special reporter was tackled today on the football field. Concussion, broken ribs....it was rather humorous. Each morning there's a time of praise & worship in I Can't Wait. It was great to see the kids singing and dancing in worship of God!
Bible Study & Recreation - There was a special treat for the adult leaders this morning. A Brunch from Georgetown College while the kids were in their regularly scheduled activities. Gil and I were able to catch Harley and Elliot at Recreation. Omniken Soccer, Parachute Games, Insanity were the games of the day!
Track Times - It was exciting on the lawn as kids in H2O were able to enjoy the water slide. Harley was able to move from Foot Praise to Football, which I believe he enjoys more. Archery had a chance to win a Free Sno Cone by aiming at post it notes on the target as they worked on their aim. Tori was able to make her baby for babysitting (which Gil apparently sat on during his babysitting, and then was let on my bed during evening activities).
Dinner - We had our first guests of the week - the complete Rognstad family!
Worship & Church Group Time - Each night after worship, the kids have a chance to spend with our group, talk about the day, and remember what it is that we've been learning in Bible Study & Worship. The kids did well with remembering details from their Bible Study. We also discussed the missions offering and why it is that we giving offerings to God. We remembered the story of Cain and Abel and I challenged the kids to really think about giving their best to God this week. The missions offering will go to help others go to the Roma people group and share the Gospel. Our staff has set this week's goal at $2,000.
Party - 90's Game Show Night & Ice Cream Party! Wheel of Fortune, Family Feud, Double Dare, Who Wants To Be a Millionaire....the boys won. All kids were then introduced to the Georgetown College Ice Cream Fairy! We also had our second visitor of the week - Edward Schwartz.
All that's left is Bed Time stories, calls home, and Good Night!

Tuesday
The first full day of camp! It's been exciting, extremely full of fun, and exhausting. We're nearing the end of the evening, and it's time to say our goodnights. First, here's what's what!
Kids participated in quiet time this morning. Each student has their own Bible Study book which also has daily devotions as a "Preview" for Bible Study.
ICW: "I Can't Wait" with Tam Bourine and Tim Ber as our News Anchors. Jesus 360 is a News related theme. Today's News Item "Jesus: Miracle Worker".
Bible Study & Recreation all takes place before lunch, so the kids are famished at lunch. Some are still warming up to meals at camp, but since today was PIZZA DAY, it makes it a little easier!

Today was the first day for Track Times. H2O was fortunate enough to go to the Pavilion today, but unfortunately there was a "potty accident" in the kids pool, so everyone was in the Olympic. Elliot got to aim arrows at Targets, Tori learned how to care for a baby, Taryn got to explode plastic bags, and Harley got to dance! Yes, that's right!
Sno Cones and Lawn Games at Hang Time! Elliot battled the staff with the foam samurai swords, but sadly was defeated. Sno Cones and Ice Cream were a big hit!
Our first night of worship, kids got to sing praises to God through songs appropriate for their understanding, and hear a message about Jesus' miracles.
At Church Group devotions, everyone got to think back on the day and review what it is that they learned. Ask your child to explain what a miracle is without using the word "miracle" in the definition. Then, we played a game of miracle ball.
Tonight's boy/girl party was "The Great Adventure". Tori was called to the stage to compete to melt ice. The girl's won tonight's competition, so now we are tied. We'll see what tomorrow holds!
Quotes:
Elliot - This blog is cool!
Harley - I got nothing.
Tori - Don't ask me (but then she tells you)
Taryn - I know my nametag's at the Pavillion.
Also: Harley laughed!
Monday
We left the church parking lot just before 1:00 pm on Monday afternoon with 3 children. Harley, Elliot, & Victoria were all excited and ready to get to camp! We were able to meet Taryn once we arrived at camp! Registration went smoothly and the kids played tons of games in the front lawn while Gil and myself learned all about housing, meals, and "the adult stuff".
Dinner was served on the lawn outside the Chapel, and the kids got their first taste of "camp food." All in all, Elliot was excited about the Watermelon.
We got to sit front row for Open Activities that evening, and were blasted out by the loud music and dancing. "Bring 'em Out" by Hawk Nelson is our song for the week.
The kids had their first night of Bible Study with their groups. All the groups are names dealing with the news. We have 1 anchor, 1 cameraman, 1 editor, and 1 ticker. The first party of the week was Boys vs. Girls "Are you smarter than a CK staffer?" Unfortunately, the boys won.
We met as a church group to discuss the final details for the week, review what they learned, and preview the next day's Bible Study.
Parents: Kids were in bed by 10:30, so it can happen!
More to come soon!
